Jaw Surgery planned for July 29, 2013!
Hey Congratulations on getting your jaw surgery approved! I am getting surgery August 20, 2013 and I’m totally anxious. I can’t wait to check back on the blog for before and after pictures and stuff like that. Good luck 🙂
Thank you so much for your message!! You are too sweet! i’ll be updating often, so definitely check back. 🙂 Congrats on your surgery as well! That’s awesome!!! Hope everything goes well!!
You’re one step closer!
Im getting there! Slowly but surely! 34 more days.
Did you have a H&P appt prior to your surgery?
H&P? I had the nurse from the hospital call me and went over all my background info. I had recently done my physical so they were able to take that information instead of redoing bloodwork. Wow, 34 days? That’ll come up quick!
History and Physical. Sounds like you did! They said that it would take a couple hours, so I was just curious if you knew what it consisted of. Not sure if they overestimated the time? I have that appt next Fri!
I think it depends on your age and health. If you’re relatively young and in good health, they won’t have much to take down vs. someone who’s had multiple surgeries and tons of medications to take.
They’ll ask you what medicine and vitamins you are taking (you’ll probably have to stop taking your vitamins beforehand), how much you exercise, if you have allergies, things like that.
That makes sense! It shouldn’t last too entirely long I’d assume then. Thanks for the heads up!
Hi, I had this surgery done myself. You are getting to the end of your journey, but the hard part is yet to come, (the diet after surgery). Little accomplishments along the way seem huge (the diet again). In the end, it is well worth it and after some time, the memories of the hard times fade.
The first look in the mirror is awesome! I still have not gotten used to the new face after 15 years.
Good luck and it will make you happier and more confident!
Rick,
Thank you for your comment and thanks for the good luck wishes! Looking in the mirror for the first time is going to life changing.
I am trying to prepare myself as much as I can! I know that the diet isn’t going be the best, but you gotta do what ya gotta do! I’m looking forward to the surgery (and the recovery). Each day that passes will be one day closer that I’m fully healed with a new smile and confidence 🙂
